Sigrid Resh is a Research Assistant Professor at Michigan Technological University and Coordinator of the Keweenaw Invasive Species Management Area (KISMA). Her research focuses on forest ecosystem processes, invasive species management, and restoration ecology, with a strong emphasis on sustainable land use and soil carbon dynamics.

Research Interests:
Dr. Resh's current research spans four key areas: (1) developing biocontrol alternatives to chemical herbicides for invasive species, including fungal, insect, and goat-based methods; (2) restoring forests disturbed by invasive species and land use; (3) understanding the role of wood in soil carbon pools and fluxes; and (4) promoting soil sustainability and land use planning. Her past work has explored carbon storage in forests across Wyoming, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Tasmania.
