Dr. Sian Genoud is an Honorary Research Fellow at Macquarie University's Dementia Research Centre within the Macquarie Medical School. She completed her PhD at the University of Sydney (2020), focusing on biometals in Parkinson's disease and ALS neuropathology, following a BSc (Hons I) in Pharmacology and Neuroscience from the same institution.
Her research specializes in neurodegenerative mechanisms, including tau pathology in Alzheimer's disease, neuronal excitotoxicity, and metal ion dysregulation in Parkinson's. She leads projects on tau uptake/glial interactions and collaborates on molecular studies of neurodegenerative protein spread.
Genoud's publications emphasize therapeutic peptide design, SOD1 modifications in ALS, and biometal analyses. She serves on the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences committee at Macquarie University.
