Sian Genoud is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sydney's School of Medical Sciences and a member of the Brain and Mind Centre. Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), with an emphasis on metal ion homeostasis, proteinopathies, and novel imaging techniques.
Recent publications highlight her work on cyclotide-based therapeutics for neuronal excitotoxicity, transgenic murine models for neurodegeneration, and elemental nano-imaging of brain tissue. She collaborates extensively across neuroscience, metallomics, and medicinal chemistry disciplines.
Genoud contributes to the academic community through grants from the Neil and Norma Hill Foundation, Australian Synchrotron, and Dementia Australia Research Foundation. Her current research student, Laura NEMENTZIK, investigates molecular drivers of progressive supranuclear palsy under her supervision.
