Sharifah SyedHassan

Associate Professor Sharifah SyedHassan is a molecular virologist at the Infectious Disease Laboratory of the Malaysia Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine & Health Sciences (JCSMHS), Monash University Malaysia (MUM). She joined MUM in 2008 and has led research projects on host-pathogen interactions, focusing on Flavivirus infections (Dengue, Chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis) and Enteroviruses. Her work includes developing recombinant vaccines, antiviral assays, and longitudinal community studies on dengue.

• Vector competence in Aedes mosquitoes
• Yeast two-hybrid interactomics for drug discovery

Recent articles highlight trends in RNA biology, antiviral pharmacology, quinolone-based cancer therapy, and green chemistry. Her work aligns with SDG 3 (Good Health) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
