Serinity Young

Serinity Young is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Queens College (CUNY) and Research Associate at the American Museum of Natural History. Specializing in East Asian religions, her research examines gender dynamics in Buddhist texts, rituals, and material culture. Fieldwork spans India, Tibet, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China and Russia.

Publications include monographs on goddesses (Women Who Fly, Oxford 2018), Buddhist gender constructs (Courtesans and Tantric Consorts, Routledge 2004), and dream theory (Dreaming in the Lotus, Wisdom 1999), along with edited reference works including the Encyclopedia of Women and World Religion (Macmillan 1998).
