Ji Young Kim is an Assistant Professor of Korean Literature at Queens College, City University of New York. She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and MA/BA degrees from Seoul National University. Her research centers on modern Korean literature, decolonization, Cold War cultural politics, and marginalized voices in historical discourse.
Her forthcoming book, Writers Between the Wars: Decolonization, Cold War, and Literature in Korea, 1945–1950, examines how Korean writers navigated colonial legacies amid Cold War reconfiguration. She has published in The Journal of Korean Studies and contributed to the Routledge Handbook of Modern Korean Literature. Her teaching spans Korean literature in translation, women's writings, colonialism, and East Asian civilizations.
