Ji-Eun Lee is an Associate Professor of Korean Language and Literature at Washington University in St. Louis, with affiliate roles in Comparative Literature and the Performing Arts Department. She holds a PhD from Harvard University and teaches courses on Korean literature, gender studies, and cultural history. Her research focuses on gender construction in Korean literature and film, colonial woman writers, print culture, and memory in post-Cold War contexts. She is the author of Women Pre-Scripted: Forging Modern Roles through Korean Print (2015) and has translated award-winning works like I Met Loh Kiwan (2019).

She has received grants from the Academy of Korean Studies, Literature Translation Institute of Korea, and the Weiner Humanities Research Grant.
