Sarah T. Phelps (She/Her) is a Lecturer and Teacher-Conductor for the Primo Girl Choir at the Lawrence Community Music School, part of Lawrence University. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Choral and General Music Education from Lawrence University (2007) and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education from UW-Oshkosh.
As an educator, she teaches elementary music in the Appleton Area School District while serving as an Arts Integration mentor and a Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching point person. Her pedagogical approach emphasizes the Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance model. Previously, she managed the Intermezzo Girl Choir (now Capriccio and Arioso).
Phelps actively contributes to the community through singing in the New Voices ensemble and serving on the Mile of Music Festival's Music Education Team. She holds memberships in the National Association for Music Education, Wisconsin Music Educators Association, and Wisconsin Choral Directors Association.
