Matt D. Kierzek (he/him) is a Lecturer in Clarinet at the Lawrence Community Music School, part of Lawrence University. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Choral/General/Instrumental Music Education from Lawrence University (2017) and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. His professional roles include teaching elementary music in the Appleton Area School District while maintaining his affiliation with Lawrence since 2022.
Dr. Kierzek's research interests center on music pedagogy, particularly clarinet instruction and elementary music education. He has performed extensively in ensembles and solo settings during his studies under David Bell at Lawrence. He actively contributes to music education through memberships in the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA).
