Sarah Deemer

Dr. Sarah Deemer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation at the University of North Texas.

• B.S. and M.S. in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from University of Texas at El Paso
• PhD in Exercise Physiology from Texas Woman’s University (2017)

Her research investigates:

• Mechanisms of obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes
• Role of adipose tissue and skeletal muscle in metabolic health
• Impact of diet/exercise on metabolic pathways
• Biological factors driving health disparities in minority populations

Scientific Awards:
