Eunhee Chung

Eunhee Chung, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio's College for Health, Community and Policy. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Georgia, and a B.E. in Environmental Engineering from Kon-Kuk University.

Her research program investigates:

• Sex-specific cardiometabolic outcomes in offspring of obese mothers
• Skeletal muscle adaptations to obesity/diet interventions
• Gut microbiome interactions in metabolic diseases
• Anti-obesity drug mechanisms (CYP8B1 inhibitors)
• Non-exercise therapies (acupuncture/electrostimulation) for muscle atrophy

Her recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate consistent focus on mitochondrial function regulation in cardiac/skeletal tissues, maternal programming effects on offspring health, and innovative atrophy interventions. Research predominantly utilizes rodent models with advanced molecular and physiological assessments.
