Sam Oldfield

Dr. Sam Oldfield is a Reader in Sport History/Sociology of Sport and Department Education Lead at Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences, within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She specializes in uncovering marginalized figures in sport history, particularly Victorian Manchester's athletic communities and netball's foundational narratives. As the Inclusive Learning Community Lead, she drives institutional strategies to address educational equity gaps. Her roles include Associate Editor for Sport in History and co-founder of the Netball History Network, fostering international scholarly collaboration.
