Roberta Woodgate is Distinguished Professor and Canada Research Chair in Child and Family Engagement in Health Research at the University of Manitoba College of Nursing. Her IN•GAUGE research program pioneers child-centered methodologies in health services research.
Research focuses on amplifying youth voices in healthcare, particularly in mental health (anxiety disorders), chronic illness experiences, and Indigenous health. She develops arts-based and digital methods like avatar-based emotion expression platforms to capture children's perspectives.
Publications demonstrate strong emphasis on qualitative innovation, with recent genomic and microbiome studies expanding into biomarker discovery. Her work consistently bridges clinical practice, policy development, and patient advocacy.
