Polina Anang, MD, PhD, FRCPC, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. As Service Chief for Consultation-Liaison/Outpatient Mental Health Services at Health Sciences Centre, she leads an interdisciplinary team focused on child and adolescent mental health, emphasizing community collaboration and Indigenous youth resilience.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (Johannes Gutenberg University, 2002), PhD in Psychosomatic Medicine (2003), Psychiatry Residency (University of Manitoba, 2008-2013)
Her research centers on community-based participatory research (CBPR) with Indigenous communities, particularly Inuit youth in Nunavut and Manitoba, addressing health equity, suicide prevention, and culturally responsive mental health services. She also explores integrated care models for youth with somatization disorders, advocating for interdisciplinary collaboration to improve quality of life and reduce systemic costs.
Key projects include co-founding the Building on Strengths in Naujaat youth resilience group and leading initiatives like In Real Life: Involving People with Lived Experience in Psychiatry Education. She collaborates with Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc. and Ongomiizwin Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing.

Anang co-facilitates Brain-Body Connection Groups for youth with chronic pain and caregivers, and contributes to policy advocacy through her clinical research. She previously served as the Prairies Representative on the Canadian Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry board (2020-2024).
