Laurence Katz is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba. He is also a Psychiatrist at Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Health Sciences Centre, and an Adjunct Scientist at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy.

Dr. Katz's research focuses on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, suicide prevention, pharmacoepidemiology, and the implementation of complex mental health interventions. He has extensively studied trends in suicidal behavior and collaborated with First Nations communities on mental health outcomes using population health administrative databases.
