Paul Eisewicht is a sociologist and Lecturer in Educational Sociology at the Department of Sociology, University of Münster. He holds a PhD from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (2013) and a Diplom in Sociology from TU Dresden (2008). His research focuses on modernization as a societal challenge, action theory, and qualitative methods, particularly ethnography and grounded theory. He leads the DFG-funded project 'Curated Shopping' and is editor of series like 'Erlebniswelten' (Springer VS). Eisewicht has received awards for his teaching and research, including the Faculty Teaching Award (2013) and the Victor-Klemperer Prize (2008).
His career includes roles as Postdoc at TU Dortmund (2014–2023) and KIT (2008–2014). He chairs the Youth Sociology section of the German Sociological Association and co-edits journals like Forum Qualitative Sozialforschung. His teaching includes seminars on consumption, digital education, and ethnography. Key research areas span youth cultures, mediated consumer behavior, and the sociology of education.
Notable publications include works on hybrid events, sensory sociology, and digital transformation. He collaborates internationally, including with the Mercator Research Centre Ruhr. His interdisciplinary approach bridges sociology, cultural studies, and digital humanities.
