Ronja Trischler is a Lecturer in the Department of Science and Technology Sociology at TU Dortmund University. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Goethe University Frankfurt (2020) and has held academic positions at institutions including the University of Siegen and Goethe University. Her research focuses on digital work, media and cultural production, and the materiality of sociotechnical practices. She is currently representing a professorship at Goethe University Frankfurt during the summer semester of 2025.

Research Interests:
Her work explores digital labor practices, visual effects production, and the intersection of technology and society. She employs qualitative methodologies, including ethnography and trans-sequential analysis, to study cooperative work and material culture. Recent projects include investigations into hackathons as socio-technical rituals and the role of waiting in digital workflows.
Teaching:
She teaches courses on qualitative research methods, digital ethnography, and sociology of technology at TU Dortmund and previously at Goethe University. Topics include 'Ethnography of Infrastructure,' 'Digital Audiences,' and 'Body & Technology.'
Labs/Teams:
Her research often involves collaborations within interdisciplinary teams, such as the DFG Collaborative Research Center 1187 'Media of Cooperation.' She contributes to projects analyzing sociotechnical systems and digital materiality.
