Patricia Moody is an Associate Professor in the English Department at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences, with additional affiliation in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Her office is located in Hall of Languages (room 426) and she teaches courses on medieval literature, history of English language, and literary periods before 1900.

Professor Moody specializes in the history of the English language, English linguistics, and medieval literature. Her research focuses on English language histories, discourse analysis (particularly medieval), reception of the medieval period, and critical pedagogy. She has made significant contributions to understanding the evolution of English grammatical structures and medieval English literary traditions through both scholarly work and pedagogical approaches.

As Faculty Coordinator for Writing and English courses through Project Advance (Syracuse's concurrent enrollment program), Professor Moody has developed curriculum, written instructional materials, and mentored high school instructors.
