Patricia A. Burak

Patricia A. Burak is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences. She has held academic roles since 1984, including Assistant Professor (part-time) from 1986 to present and Instructor (part-time) from 1984–1986. Concurrently, she has served as Director of the Slutzker Center for International Services since 1989, overseeing international student support and global education initiatives. Her career spans over four decades in international education administration and academia.

She has also presented at prestigious venues like New York University and the University of Illinois, exploring themes from Dostoevsky's morality to global migration dynamics.

Leadership & Advising: As Faculty Adviser for the International Living Learning Community (2006–2008), she supported global student integration. Her administrative roles include leading Syracuse's international services offices since 1980, shaping policies for international student engagement and cross-cultural competency.
