Olga Guryanova, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida. Her research focuses on understanding the interplay between epigenetics and chromatin organization in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Her lab investigates how DNMT3A mutations contribute to AML progression, therapy resistance, and clonal evolution. Key areas include the molecular mechanisms of anthracycline resistance, nucleosome eviction defects, and preclinical therapeutic strategies for DNMT3A-mutant leukemia. Recent work extends to colitis-associated colon cancer exacerbation via Dnmt3a loss and NPM1 mutation-driven leukemic transcription networks.
Research interests center on epigenetic dysregulation in hematologic malignancies and aging. Dr. Guryanova's work integrates mouse models, biochemical studies, and translational approaches to bridge basic science and clinical applications. Notable contributions include defining DNMT3A's role in HSC fitness, chromatin remodeling defects, and therapeutic vulnerabilities in AML.
Publications highlight her lab's focus on leukemia genetics, drug resistance mechanisms, and epigenetic modifiers in cancer. Collaborative projects span institutions, addressing topics like the impact of inflammation on tumor plasticity and repurposing drugs like tranexamic acid for anticancer use.
