معرفی
Dr. Ojore Benedict Valentine Oka is a Research Fellow in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Glasgow. His work focuses on redox biology, protein folding, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, particularly mechanisms governing disulfide bond formation and the unfolded protein response (UPR). He collaborates with Neil Bulleid and colleagues across institutions.
- Research Focus: ER redox regulation, thioredoxin reductase pathways, and stress response mechanisms.
- Labs: Lab 232, Institute of Molecular, Cell & Systems Biology (MC&SB), Davidson Building, Glasgow G12 8QQ.
His publications highlight roles of ERp18, ERdj5, and thioredoxin systems in protein quality control. A Wellcome Trust grant (2016) supported his work on ATF6 interactions during cell stress.
Scientific Awards
- Wellcome Trust Grant (2016): Identification and validation of ATF6 protein interaction partners during cell stress.
Advising and Grants
Supervised student: Sabha, Bassam Hassan A (2016). Grants emphasize mechanistic studies of ER stress and redox regulation.
