معرفی
Dr. Marcel Van Lith is a Researcher in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Glasgow. His work focuses on redox regulation and protein folding within the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), particularly mechanisms of disulfide bond formation, ER stress, and unfolded protein response (UPR).
Research Interests:
- Redox biology of the endoplasmic reticulum
- Disulfide bond formation and oxidative protein folding
- Thioredoxin reductase pathways
- Membrane protein topology
- ER stress and UPR signaling
- Dynamic redox monitoring in living cells
Publications highlight his contributions to understanding cytosolic-ER redox coupling, thioredoxin reductase roles, and regulation of ER chaperones. Collaborations with Neil J. Bulleid, Marie Anne Pringle, and others underscore his team-based approach to ER biology.
Labs & Teams: Works in Lab 232, Institute of Molecular Cell and Systems Biology at the Davidson Building, Glasgow. Engaged in interdisciplinary projects linking ER redox states to broader cellular stress responses.
