Dr. Noam Gur is Senior Lecturer in Law at Queen Mary University of London, specializing in jurisprudence and political theory. His award-winning book Legal Directives and Practical Reasons (OUP 2018) received the SLS Peter Birks Prize for Outstanding Legal Scholarship.
His research examines the normativity of law, practical reasoning, and authority-legitimacy relationships. Dr. Gur serves as the Law Department's Academic Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and sits on the executive committee of the International Association of Legal and Social Philosophy (IVR).
He teaches Jurisprudence & Legal Theory and Common Law from Theory to Practice, and previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at Oxford University.
