Samuel Murumba is Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School, where he has taught since 1992 after many years on the faculty of Monash University Law School in Melbourne, Australia. He is affiliated with the Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law and serves on the Edward V. Sparer Public Interest Law Fellowship Committee.

Research Interests:
Professor Murumba’s scholarship bridges intellectual-property law, international human-rights law, and property law. His work interrogates how global markets and digital technologies reshape ownership, access, and human dignity. He explores the interface between copyright, trademark, and unfair-competition doctrines and the challenges posed by transnational enforcement and cross-cultural legal norms.
Publications Overview:
Spanning four decades, his publications analyze the evolution of global IP regimes, the normative foundations of human-rights law in market societies, and doctrinal developments in property and tort law. His recent outputs emphasize digital-domain governance, justice constituencies in IP globalization, and the legacy of foundational human-rights instruments.
