Michal S. Gal is a Professor and Director of the Center for Law and Technology at the Faculty of Law, University of Haifa, Israel. She has served as President of the Academic Society for Competition Law (ASCOLA) until 2023 and has held visiting professorships at institutions including the University of Chicago, NYU, and the National University of Singapore.
Her research focuses on the intersection of competition law and intellectual property, law and technology, optimal regulation in small economies, and the impact of algorithmic systems on antitrust enforcement. Her work addresses critical challenges in digital markets and global competition policy.
Prof. Gal has received multiple accolades, including the 2017 Jerry S. Cohen Memorial Fund Writing Award, the 2019 University of Haifa 'Best Senior Researcher' Award, and recognition as one of the 25 most influential competition scholars worldwide in 2022. Her publications have been honored with Antitrust Awards in 2014 and 2016.

Prof. Gal contributes to international antitrust dialogue as a consultant to the OECD and UNCTAD, and as a non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network.
