Daniel Francis is an Assistant Professor of Law at NYU School of Law, specializing in antitrust law, constitutional law, and regulatory theory. He holds a JSD from NYU, an LLM from Harvard, and a law degree from Trinity College, Cambridge. His research focuses on monopolization, mergers, and theoretical foundations of antitrust, with publications in leading journals like the Yale Law Journal and Columbia Law Review. He co-authored Antitrust: Principles, Cases, and Materials (3d ed. 2025). Francis previously served at the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, holding roles like Deputy Director and Associate Director for Digital Markets. He also practiced antitrust law in Washington DC, New York, and Brussels.
His teaching includes advanced antitrust courses and seminars on regulating digital platforms. He advises on antitrust policy and has testified before the U.S. Senate.
