Megan Brakeley is an academic and environmental professional at Middlebury College, holding a part-time lecturer role while managing the Knoll Educational Garden and overseeing its programming. She earned a Bachelor's in Spanish and Environmental Studies from Middlebury College and a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment. Her work integrates ecological stewardship with social justice, emphasizing how gardens reflect and influence societal structures.

Her research interests explore the intersection of environmental policy, racial equity, and institutional power dynamics, as seen in her course "Garden as Metaphor: Memory and Broadcasting the Future," which examines how gardens materialize cultural and political ideologies. She applies critical frameworks to analyze seed sovereignty, climate justice, and community resilience.
Outside academia, Megan volunteers at the Knoll Garden, serves on the Porter Medical Center Board, and instructs at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. Previously, she contributed to the Center for Community Engagement and mentored through the Posse Foundation.
