Mauricio Rogat is a Research Fellow at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS) and the Division of Migration, Ethnicity and Society (REMESO). He holds a PhD from the School of Global Studies at the University of Gothenburg, which he defended in 2022. His research focuses on migration governance, digital infrastructures, and border practices, examining how these intersect with sovereignty and socio-technical imaginaries of belonging. He currently participates in the research project 'The social life of XG: digital infrastructures and the re-configuration of sovereignty and imagined communities.'
Education: PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Gothenburg (2022).
Research interests include critical logistics studies, migration trajectories, and the role of digital technologies in shaping social inclusion/exclusion dynamics. His recent work explores how European digital infrastructure expansions influence sovereignty and community formation.
Teaching: Contributes to the Bachelor’s program in Social and Cultural Analysis (SKA).
Labs/Teams: Active in REMESO, which investigates migration, ethnicity, and societal change, and IKOS, a multidisciplinary department merging social sciences and humanities.
