Pouran Djampour is a Researcher (Postdoc) at Linköping University's Department of Culture and Society (IKOS), affiliated with the Division of Migration, Ethnicity, and Society (REMESO). Her work focuses on migration, borders, and postcolonial/decolonial methodologies. She holds a PhD in social work from Malmö University, defending her dissertation Borders Crossing Bodies - The stories of eight youth with experience of migrating in 2018.
Her current research explores how solidarities and deservingness are negotiated in welfare systems for migrants across Sweden, Denmark, and the UK. Key case studies include asylum seekers' prolonged waiting periods and support for undocumented migrant families with children. She emphasizes ethical and political dimensions of representation in qualitative research, co-editing a volume on these themes in 2021.
Teaching responsibilities include coordinating courses in social work at bachelor's and master's levels, and supervising theses in Ethnic and Migration Studies at REMESO. She contributes to Linköping University's interdisciplinary research on migration and societal integration.
Her academic output includes edited volumes and chapters addressing ethnographic methods, anti-racist social work, and decolonial research practices. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with applied social research to address systemic inequities in migration governance and welfare provision.
