Shahram Khosravi is a Professor at the Department of Social Anthropology, Stockholm University. His research focuses on the anthropology of Iran and the Middle East, migration, displacement, and border studies. He is a founding member of the Critical Border Studies network, which explores debordering, rebordering, and border-crossing practices through interdisciplinary collaboration.
His recent projects include After Deportation, examining post-deportation outcomes for asylum seekers, and Waiting, analyzing the temporal experiences of undocumented migrants in Sweden. His publications span auto-ethnographic works like The 'Illegal' Traveler and edited volumes such as Seeing Like a Smuggler: Borders from Below. He has contributed to journals like Social Anthropology and Radical Philosophy, often addressing themes of precarity, hope, and migrant agency.
