معرفی
Karin Krifors is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS) and the Division of Migration, Ethnicity and Society (REMESO). Her work critically examines migration, citizenship, and social inequality through feminist and postcolonial lenses. She explores how economic and administrative frameworks legitimize racialized divisions in society and investigates migrant labor dynamics in globalized economies.
Research Interests
Her research focuses on migration processes, institutional citizenship practices, and the intersections of race, gender, and class. Current projects analyze Sweden's temporary migration regimes and how moral and economic values shape migrant labor valuations. Methodologically, she employs qualitative methods like institutional ethnography, interviews, and participatory observation. Key themes include the precarity of migrant workers, antiracism in small-town contexts, and transnational labor logistics.
Teaching & Pedagogy
She designs courses on intersectional migration analysis and teaches feminist theories of labor and economy. Supervision includes BA/MA theses in social/cultural analysis, social work, and cultural studies.
