Mary Crossley is a Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a John E. Murray Faculty Scholar. She served as Dean from 2005 to 2012 and as Interim Dean from July 2023 to January 2025, focusing on curricular reform, diversity, and innovative programming.

Her research examines health law, disability discrimination, and civil rights, with a focus on systemic inequality in healthcare financing and delivery. Her work intersects race and disability to analyze health equity, Medicaid policy, and reproductive justice.
Mary Crossley’s scholarly contributions include Embodied Injustice: Race, Disability, and Health (Cambridge University Press, 2022) and articles in Columbia Law Review, Iowa Law Review, and Notre Dame Law Review. Her 2025 article The Layered Harms of Nursing Home Segregation highlights institutional disparities, while her 2019 work Opioids and Converging Interests explores legal responses to public health crises.
