Martina Roes

Prof. Dr. Martina Roes is a Professor and Group Leader at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Witten, Germany, where she also serves as Site Speaker. She leads the Implementation and Dissemination Research (ImDi) group, focusing on integrating evidence-based interventions into dementia care practice. Her work addresses theoretical models for sustainable healthcare improvements and the transferability of international implementation research to the German health system.

Her research examines:

• Theoretical frameworks for implementation/dissemination effectiveness
• Person-centered interventions across care settings
• Health system resilience during crises (e.g., pandemics)
• Co-research methodologies with people affected by dementia

She leads major projects including DISTINCT (EU-funded dementia technology research), DEMfriendlyHospital (dementia-sensitive hospital criteria), and COVIDemX3 (health system resilience during pandemics). She has supervised doctoral candidates investigating assistive technology acceptance and social robotics in dementia care.
