Dr. Bernhard Holle is a Group Leader at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Witten, Germany, where he heads the multidisciplinary 'Care Structures' research group. His team comprises nursing scientists, social scientists, and gerontologists, many with clinical care backgrounds. The group investigates dementia care systems through two primary research domains: stability of home-based care arrangements (SoCA-Dem project line) and dementia-specific long-term care in nursing home settings.
Research focuses on developing theoretical frameworks for care interventions, analyzing factors influencing care stability, and evaluating implementation processes for dementia care models. Key projects include UplandCare (rural dementia networks), SABD-Fam (ambulatory support systems), PeVA-Dem (competency profiles for caregivers), G-EAT (dementia-sensitive environmental design), and DeliA (delirium prevalence studies). The work aims to improve person-centered care structures through evidence-based approaches.
