Jens Wiltfang

Prof. Dr. Jens Wiltfang is Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and leads a research group at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). His work focuses on developing minimally invasive diagnostic methods for early detection of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative dementias. He co-developed Germany's S3 dementia guidelines and pioneers blood-based biomarker research using advanced molecular imaging techniques.

Research interests center on:

• Predictive diagnostics for preclinical dementia stages (SCD/MCI)
• Blood biomarker discovery (beta-amyloid peptides, neurofilament light chains, GFAP)
• High-throughput screening via antibody-based biosensors and attomolar immunoassays
• Pharmacological/non-pharmacological prevention strategies including neurostimulation and dietary interventions
