Marta Maria Ugolini is a Full Professor at the University of Verona's Department of Management. She specializes in Marketing, Tourism Management, and Service Management. Currently on academic leave (Jan-Dec 2024), she serves as Councilor for Culture, Tourism, and UNESCO Relations for the Municipality of Verona. Her research focuses on branding, consumer behavior, tourism destination strategies, and service quality in healthcare, tourism, and cultural sectors.
Teaching includes Principles of Tourism Marketing (since 2001), Principles of International Marketing, and Strategic Management of Tourism and Cultural Businesses. She has directed advanced courses like Promotion of Cultural Tourism and sits on scientific committees for masters in English for International Business and Entertainment Management.
Research projects include digital transformation for SMEs, strategic planning for tourism destinations (e.g., Verona, Sirmione), and assessing the economic impact of cultural events like Tocatì. She chairs the Sinergie SIMA Management Conference and edits the SCOPUS-indexed journal Sinergie Italian Journal of Management.
Previously held roles include Rector's Delegate for Communication (2016-2019) and participation in Harvard's City Leadership Initiative (2023-2024). Engaged with UNESCO, she oversees Verona's World Heritage site management and cultural policies.
