Prof. Markus Jachtenfuchs is a Professor of European and Global Governance at the Hertie School in Berlin. His research focuses on multilevel governance in the EU and international systems, with a particular emphasis on differentiated integration, core state powers, and digital sovereignty. He has held leadership roles including Co-Director of the Jacques Delors Centre (2018–2023) and was a Visiting Professor at Harvard Kennedy School (2010). He earned his PhD from the European University Institute (1994) and previously worked at Jacobs University Bremen and the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research.
