Mark Stringer is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Group Lead in People, Work and Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck Business School, Birkbeck, University of London. He holds additional roles as Programme Director for the Professional Doctorate (EBMHRM) and the Joint MBA with Central Saint Martins. With nearly 40 years of industry experience across finance, product management, HR, and organizational development, he bridges academic and practical insights. His research focuses on critical interdisciplinary tools to address organizational challenges, including a PhD analyzing Employee Engagement through Lacanian psychoanalysis and an upcoming study on women’s leadership trajectories. He was recognized as a UK Most Influential HR Thinker by HR Magazine in 2023 and 2024.
Education includes an MSc, GCert, and ongoing clinical psychoanalysis training. He teaches modules like Organizations and Change Perspectives, HRM Professional Development, and Work and Well-Being, while supervising MSc research projects. His publications include a Routledge chapter (2023) and a monograph on organizational race and trauma (2020).
