Mark Stringer

Mark Stringer serves as Senior Lecturer and Subject Group Leader for People, Work and Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London's Business School, while also holding a Senior Lecturer position for the MBA program at Central Saint Martins. He directs the Professional Doctorate in Evidence-Based Management, HRM and the Joint MBA program between both institutions.

His educational background includes an MSc from Birkbeck (2013) and a PhD expected in 2025, complemented by professional credentials including FRSA, AFHEA, CBP, and Chartered MCIPD membership.

Dr. Stringer's research employs critical interdisciplinary approaches to examine employee engagement through Lacanian psychoanalytic frameworks, women's leadership journeys to board positions, and alternative academic career paths. His work consistently integrates psychoanalytic perspectives with organizational theory to address systemic workplace issues and promote transformative change in human resource practices.

His publications reveal a trajectory connecting psychoanalytic organizational theory with practical HR applications, particularly examining how trauma manifests in workplace contexts and how non-traditional career paths challenge conventional academic progression models.
