Rob Briner is a Professor of Organizational Psychology at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. He serves as Teaching and Learning Forum Coordinator and a member of the Department of People and Organisations. His research focuses on evidence-based management and organizational psychology topics such as work well-being, psychological contracts, and emotion at work. He holds adjunct roles at the Institute of Psychiatry, London School of Economics, and University of Edinburgh Business School.
Education: BSc Psychology & Philosophy (University of Hull), MSc (Durham University), PhD (University of Sheffield). Prior to QMUL, he spent 20 years at Birkbeck, University of London, holding leadership roles including Director of Research and Head of School.
Research explores two core areas: evidence-based practice in management/HR and organizational psychology topics including work conditions' impact on well-being and behavior. He leads the Center for Evidence-Based Management (CEBMA) as Scientific Director, promoting practical application of research.
Recent work emphasizes systematic reviews, management fad critique, and interventions addressing psychological contracts and employee engagement. His 15 most recent articles span evidence-based approaches to well-being interventions, public sector change dynamics, and ethnic identity salience at work.
