She holds a PhD in Business and Management from Cardiff University (2021) and has extensive experience in both academic and HR practitioner roles.
Her research takes a critical lens to the employment relationship, drawing from her prior experience as an HR practitioner. Her primary research interests include idiosyncratic deals (individualized employment arrangements), workplace flexibility, the roles of line managers and HR practitioners, HRM implementation, and retention in healthcare settings.
Her recent publications focus on institutional logics in HR practice, flexibility arrangements, and critical theory applications in HRM. Her research often examines the balance between organizational needs and employee wellbeing, particularly in healthcare contexts where she received the Professor Mick Marchington Applied Research Grant in 2023 to study nurse retention through individualized working arrangements.
