Dr. Muhammad Naseer Akhtar is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management & People Analytics at the Royal Docks School of Business and Law, University of East London. He holds a PhD in Management from Huazhong University of Science & Technology (China, 2015) and an MA in Management from the University of Chester (UK, 2009). His roles include Interim Director of Research Impact & Innovation and Research Lead for the Department of Business Management, Entrepreneurship & Finance.
Research Interests: His work focuses on HRM, organizational behavior, I/O psychology, and organizational change, with current themes including high-performance work systems, flexible HR practices, psychological contracts, employee engagement, and people analytics. He has over 20 years of industry experience in banking, education, and consulting, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (FCIPD) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Publications & Impact: He has authored/co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles in top journals like Employee Relations, Management Decision, and Current Psychology. His research explores leadership behavior, employee well-being, and workplace dynamics. Recent studies address topics such as self-serving leadership, the impact of cyberloafing, and pro-environmental behavior.
Awards & Leadership: Recognized for editorial roles at Employee Relations and Internet Research. He founded MNA-HR Consulting, specializing in data-driven HR strategies and organizational transformation. Active in international collaborations, he has established academic partnerships with institutions in China, Lithuania, and Cyprus.
Teaching & Supervision: Teaches modules on leadership, organizational change, and data analytics. Currently supervising PhD students in HRM, performance management, and digital HR practices. He also serves as an external examiner and dissertation supervisor across multiple universities.
