Marisa Smith

Dr. Marisa Smith is a Professor and Reader at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation within the University of Strathclyde's Strathclyde Business School. She holds a Master's in Manufacturing Engineering and Management and a PhD in Innovation Management in Service Operations from the University of Strathclyde. Her research focuses on innovative behaviors in organizations, particularly how strategy, performance measurement, and knowledge management influence organizational innovation. She employs qualitative methodologies such as participatory case studies, interviews, and workshops. Marisa also integrates innovative teaching methods, including gamification and technology, to engage future managers. She has supervised numerous dissertation students across undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, and executive MBA programs.

Key research areas include service innovation, high-value manufacturing, and the transfer of manufacturing best practices to service sectors.
