Marco Lerro is an Associate Professor in the Department of Law, Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods (DEMM) at the University of Sannio in Benevento, Italy, specializing in Rural Economy and Estimation (AGR/01). He holds a PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies from the University of Naples Federico II and has held research and teaching roles at institutions including the University of Padua, University of Reading, and Wageningen University.
His research focuses on sustainable agri-food systems, corporate social responsibility, consumer behavior, and innovation in agricultural supply chains. He has led competitive international projects such as 'The value of socially responsible wine' funded by the OIV and participates in national research initiatives like VERITAS, POIGA, and INNFARES. He serves as Assistant Editor for Agricultural and Food Economics and Guest Editor for Sustainability.

Lerro teaches courses including European Food Security Policy, Agrifood Financing, and Financial Instruments for the Agri-Food Sector. He serves as a tutor, member of the University Quality Assurance Committee, and participates in strategic planning and social reporting at the University of Sannio. His recent publications analyze consumer preferences for wine, craft beer, Mediterranean diet adherence, and sustainable collective innovation in agri-food value chains, employing methods such as Best-Worst Scaling and regression analysis.
