Claudio Bellia is an Associate Professor of Agricultural, Food, and Rural Economics at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania since January 2022. He has held teaching roles in courses such as Economics of the Agri-food Business, Economics and Management of Wine Businesses, and Communication Strategies for Quality Agri-food Products, while also supervising degree and doctoral theses.
- Education: Degree in Economics and Business (University of Catania, 1998), Master's in Economics of the Agri-food System (Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, 2001), Specialization in Marketing Management and Agribusiness (University of Guelph, 2002), and PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy (University of Catania, 2003).
His research focuses on economic and managerial aspects of agri-food systems, including sustainability (SEAM project), technological innovations in dairy farming (COWTECH), functional bakery products (SIPROFF), and impact assessments of agricultural policies like the CAP Reform. He has contributed to interdisciplinary projects addressing water resource scarcity, consumer preference analysis, and quality management in agri-food supply chains.
He holds editorial roles for journals like Sustainability and Agribusiness Paesaggio & Ambiente, and serves on scientific committees for conferences and master's programs. Bellia has participated in over 20 research projects, including collaborations with the EU Commission and MIUR, and has worked with institutions such as CORERAS and IRPAIS.
