Linda Mizejewski is the Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at The Ohio State University, with a courtesy appointment as Professor in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts. Her research focuses on feminist film theory, popular culture, and comedy studies. She holds a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh.
Her expertise spans feminist critiques of cinema, cultural analysis of comedy, and gender representation in media. Notable works include *Pretty/Funny: Women Comedians and Body Politics* (2015) and *The Americans* (2022), a TV Milestones book. She has been recognized with awards including the Susan Koppelman Prize and honorable mentions for national book prizes.
Mizejewski has held Fulbright Lectureships in Slovakia and Romania and received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and American Council of Learned Societies. At Ohio State, she developed courses on popular culture, feminist perspectives on addiction, and women’s literature, earning the Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award and Harlan Hatcher Distinguished Faculty Award.
She serves on the board of the Collegiate Recovery Community and speaks for the Ohio Humanities Council, bridging academic and public engagement.
