Dr. Linda Beail is a Professor of Political Science at Point Loma Nazarene University, specializing in American politics, political theory, and gender & race politics. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and a B.A. in English Literature and Political Science from Wheaton College (IL).
- Her research focuses on postfeminism, gender in popular culture, and the intersection of religion and politics in the U.S.
- She has taught courses on the Politics of Race, Class and Gender, American Government, Women and Politics, and the Development of Feminist Thought.
Beail’s publications explore the portrayal of political women in media, gender dynamics in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the interplay of nostalgia and modern American political culture. Her work emphasizes media analysis and critical theory.
- Scientific awards include the R.I.S.E. Award (2019), Wesleyan Center Research Fellowship (2019–2020), and the Susan Koppelman Award (2013).
She serves as faculty advisor to Pi Sigma Alpha, has co-edited the Politics and Popular Culture book series, and organized national conferences on gender in Christian higher education. Her teaching extends globally through student travel programs to New Hampshire, Washington, D.C., and European cities.
