Dr. Rosanne Welch is a Professor and Executive Director of the MFA in TV and Screenwriting at Stephens College. She specializes in television writing, screenwriting history, and women's contributions to media. Welch has authored and co-edited multiple books, including *When Women Wrote Hollywood* and *American Women’s History on Film*.
Her research focuses on:
- Screenwriting and television production
- Women's roles in early cinema and media history
- Gender representation in popular culture
- Historical analysis of Hollywood systems
Welch's recent publications span topics from feminist media historiography to intersections of television and youth culture. She has served as a TEDxCPP speaker, brought the 2023 Screenwriting Research Network Conference to Stephens College, and contributes regularly to media outlets.
