Lina Maria Ellegård is an Associate Professor and Researcher at the Department of Economics, Lund University. She also teaches microeconomics and health economic evaluation at Kristianstad University. Her research focuses on the economic aspects of healthcare, including financial incentives, privatization, competition, patient choice of care providers, e-health/telemedicine, and continuity of care, primarily using Swedish register data. She has supervised student essays and serves as an assistant supervisor in doctoral projects such as 'Equity and sociodemographic differences in the utilization of a digitalized primary healthcare.'
Research Interests: Health Economics, Public Economics, and Healthcare Policy. Her work addresses topics like risk adjustment in payment models, socioeconomic disparities in healthcare access, and continuity of care in primary settings. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through her research on equitable healthcare systems.
Projects: She leads the Forte-funded project 'Crucial yet sidestepped – continuity in Swedish primary care' and collaborates on initiatives such as 'Interprofessional collaboration in primary care for elderly care' and 'Debt and Mental Health – In Good Times and in Bad.' Her work spans academic, clinical, and policy domains.
