Lida Pitsillidou

Dr Lida Pitsillidou is a Lecturer in Company Law and Corporate Governance at the School of Law, University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus). She holds a PhD in Law from Newcastle University (2016), an LLM in International Business and Commercial Law from the University of Manchester (2010), and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Sunderland (2009). Her research focuses on Company Law, Corporate Governance, Minority Shareholder Protection, Directors’ Duties, and Legal Education. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Certified Trainer by HRDA Cyprus.

• Administrative Roles: Coordinator of Teaching and Learning Seminar Series (2023–present), Mentorship Scheme Founder (2023–present), Academic Advisor for LLB/LLM programs (2016–present), and former Course Leader for LLB programs (2017–2024).
• Research Contributions: Authored peer-reviewed articles on derivative actions and corporate governance, presented at international conferences, and coordinated research initiatives including the inaugural UCLan Cyprus PGR Conference (2019).

Her scholarly activities include CPD training on Rule of Law due diligence, peer reviewing for The Law Teacher, and contributions to academic journals. She has secured research funding for PGR conferences (€4100–€2000) and mentored over 100 student projects. She is a founding member of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Law, Alternative and Innovative Methods (ICLAIM) and actively engages in pedagogical innovation, including digital tools like Vevox for student engagement.
